The Polo Bear

Each iteration of the iconic Polo Bear is inspired by one of Ralph Lauren’s own ways of dressing, showcasing the wide range of Polo styles and how Ralph confidently switches between them. The original, Preppy Bear, debuted in 1991 as a limited-edition run of 200 stuffed bears, dressed in miniaturized Polo apparel and produced by Steiff, the famed German toy manufacturer. In the years since, the Polo Bear has appeared with all kinds of new outfits on a variety of items, from neckties to jumpers and beyond.

Tie-inspired Straps

In honour of the first piece Ralph Lauren ever designed—the necktie—each Polo Bear watch comes with a patterned strap crafted from necktie silk, in addition to a leather strap of French calfskin or exotic alligator.
