The tuxedo jacket first appeared in menswear in the 1800s as an alternative to the tailcoat, and in the '70s Mr. Lauren sent his version for women down the runway. In stretch-infused virgin wool, the Chrystie style builds on this heritage by merging a double-breasted silhouette with classic tuxedo elements, like satin-covered buttons and wide double-faced satin peak lapels.
